Lane Kiffin has again dipped into the junior college ranks in hopes of bringing a former Power Five player to Florida Atlantic.

Former Southern Cal defensive lineman Noah Jefferson, who spent last season at JUCO powerhouse Arizona Western, announced via Twitter hea€™s transferring to FAU. 247 Sports was the first to report the former Trojan was signing with the Owls.

Jeffersona€™s Twitter profile calls him a a€œdefensive tackle at #TheFAU.a€ A former four-star recruit from Nevada, Jefferson is immediately eligible to play.A Jefferson had 14 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 10 games last season for the Matadors.

Jefferson, who also lined up at tight end while at Arizona Western last fall, had 23 tackles in 12 games with the Trojans in 2015 and only played one game in 2016 before transferring later that season.

Jefferson is listed as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports and was ranked as the No. 8 JUCO defensive tackle and the No. 19 overall JUCO player in the 2018 signing class. ThoughA Jefferson signed with Ole Miss in February, he was later denied admission by the university.

As Jefferson has not used a redshirt year, he could either sit out this year or take advantage of the NCAAa€™s new redshirt policy which allows a player to see action in up to four games while still retaining another year of eligibility.
