This is nothing new to Rayshad Lewis. He knows the task ahead of him. Hes had to prove himself before.

The former Bishop Moore star, who helped lead the Hornets to the 2015 Class 5A state championship, has decided to transfer to Maryland after one year at Utah State. He had an impressive freshman season out west, but he just didnt feel like he fit in.

He said the Maryland staff quickly made him feel at ease.

I just felt at home and very comfortable with the coaching staff, the offense and how I would fit in ... and their direction and plan for the program, Lewis said Monday.

Now he will be looking to prove he belongs in the Big Ten and hell do it just down the road from the same stadium where his father used to wreak havoc on NFL offenses for 17 years.

The son of future Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Lewis said he has no ill feelings toward the Utah State or its coaching staff.

I want to thank everybody at Utah State, all of the coaches who helped me and supported me, said Rayshad Lewis, who was back visiting Bishop Moore last week. Nothing against them, but at the end of the day, I just didnt necessarily feel like it was the greatest spot for me.
